It was a real honour to have two pieces of my work selected by Upland CIC to be included in their exhibition, DECADE, at the Kirkcudbright Galleries. (You can see how delighted I am by this photo...!)
Upland is the visual arts and crafts development organisation for South West Scotland, and I became a member when I moved here in 2023. Natasha Kinsella (Event and Exhibitions Development Manager with Upland) says 'DECADE...is a reflection of the rich creative connections that have flourished between the Upland membership of artists, their work, and the communities and places that inspire them.'

"All Lies Before Me' and 'Summer Meadow Moving' are both pieces that draw their inspiration from the land I walk in every day. In front of my house there is a beautiful meadow that runs down to the River Bladnoch. In the summer it is an ocean of gloriously coloured, waist high grasses that sway and ripple with the warm breezes and I wanted to capture this in 'Summer Meadow Moving'. 'All Lies Before Me' reflects the feeling I have of pure joy and possibility that Spring in Galloway can bring.

The opening event on the 17th January was a very lively evening, with a gallery full of interesting and creative people. The exhibition runs until March 9th 2025 and is definately worth a visit .
